Community Enforcement

Starland County employs a Community Peace Officer ( CPO ) working various shifts with authorities under the Alberta Solicitor General to enforce specific provincial statutes such as the Traffic Safety Act and regulations, Gaming Liquor and Cannabis Act, Petty Trespass Act, Line Fence Act, Dangerous Dogs Act, Animal Protection Act, Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act ( litter/waste ) and Starland County Bylaws.

On Patrol

Our Community Peace Officer patrols approximately 1,300 km of roads within Starland County, conducting traffic enforcement and focusing on protecting the infrastructure of county roads while promoting safe driving. Patrols are also conducted on provincial highways 576,585,838,839,849 and 851. Although traffic enforcement can be conducted on primary highways 9,27, and 56 within the county, this is the primary responsibility of the RCMP and Alberta Sheriffs.
