A Safety Notice from Ember Resources

SAFETY ALERT

At Ember Resources lnc., the safety of the farming community is our highest priority.

Wellhead and pipeline strikes caused by farming equipment pose a serious risk to landowners, contractors, and the general public. In the past five years alone, Ember has recorded 82 incidents where agricultural equipment struck wellheads or pipeline risers, resulting in over $300,000 in repair costs. More critically, these strikes have led to natural gas leaks, creating the potential for fires, explosions, and severe injuries. We urge all members of the agricultural community to stay informed and exercise extreme caution when working near Ember's natural gas infrastructure. Awareness and prevention are essential to protecting lives, property, and the environment.

At Ember Resources Inc., we are committed to minimizing our operational footprint.

Wherever possible, we utilize minimum disturbance wellsites, allowing the unused portions of our leases to be integrated back into productive farmland. This approach creates a shared benefit: landowners regain valuable agricultural space, and Ember reduces surface impact.

However, this close proximity of farming activity to our wellheads and pipeline risers comes with serious safety considerations. To ensure everyone's safety, it is critical that operators of agricultural equipment remain fully aware of Ember's infrastructure and exercise extreme caution when working around it. Together, we can maintain a safe and productive environment, protecting both lives and livelihoods.

In the event of an incident involving Ember's facilities, including fencing, wellheads, or pipelines, please follow these steps immediately:

  • Shut off the vehicle's ignition and evacuate to a safe distance from the site.
  • Call Ember's 24-hour Emergency Line at 1-888-362-7370 to report the incident.
  • Wait for Ember personnet to arrive. Local area staff will be notified immediately and will attend the site as quickly as possible.
  • Do not attempt to move equipment or retrieve personal belongings until Ember staff have shut down the facility and confirmed that the area is safe to enter.

These incidents often result in substantial damage to Ember's infrastructure and lead to production downtime for necessary inspections and repairs. Given the increasing number of wellhead strikes and related damage, Ember would like to respectfully remind our valued farming partners that the costs associated with repairing damage to wetlheads or pipeline infrastructure may be the responsibility of the landowner or land user involved.
