Disaster Services

Emergency planning is a core service provided by Starland County. An up-to-date Emergency Operations Plan is maintained, along with close liaison with the Provincial Government and local industry. Starland County, along with the villages of Morrin, Munson, and Delia, forms the Starland Regional Disaster Services Committee.  This committee meets several times a year to discuss and review the Emergency Operations Plan and hold emergency simulation exercises.  Additionally, Disaster Mutual Aid Agreements are maintained with all neighbouring municipalities, allowing for the timely sharing of resources in an emergency.

Alberta Emergency Alert

The Alberta Emergency Alert System is a provincial government initiative used to alert residents of emergencies.  Starland County uses Alberta Emergency Alert to warn you about emerging situations that threaten life and property and effectively advise you about precautions and actions you should take. We may also use Alberta Emergency Alert to issue both voluntary and mandatory evacuation orders when appropriate.
