Facility and Grounds Maintenance Lead
Full Time | Permanent (40 hrs/week)
Starland County is seeking an energetic, highly ambitious individual to join our team as a Facility & Grounds Maintenance Lead. The Lead is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of various County Locations, including but not limited to, hamlets, campgrounds, cemeteries, transfer stations, and surrounding County facilities. They are required to train and direct the seasonal recreation labourers, ensuring work schedules are completed as well as coordination of equipment to complete tasks. Troubleshooting and general repair work at our recreation areas and within various County facilities will be required. Experience in operating equipment in confined spaces is essential.
The successful candidate must be reliable, have effective communication, hardworking and high attention to detail. Starland County invites you to submit your resume if you possess:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years experience in a related field.
- Experience in operating light and medium duty trucks and trailers
- Strong expertise with light equipment and tools
- Proficient in general repair and facility maintenance including, but not limited to, one or more of the following areas: mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and carpentry
- Strong communication and problem solving skills
- Perform preventative maintenance checks in servicing and repairs of County assets to ensure optimal performance
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to promote teamwork and support staff
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload within multiple locations
- Strong attention to detail including maintaining, cleaning and organizing shop and work areas.

This opportunity is a full-time permanent position, Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The salary for this position is $54,600.00 to $81,000.00. An excellent benefits package is also available. In accordance with our Substance Abuse Prevention Policy, pre-employment drug and alcohol testing is required prior to commencing employment. A drivers abstract is also required.
