Weed Inspection Program

Weed Inspectors

Weed inspectors are appointed as required by the Weed Control Act. Inspectors will inspect property for the presence of prohibited noxious and noxious weeds. You can find our appointed Weed Inspectors throughout the County from May until September, recording the presence of weeds and performing spot spraying and hand pulling in infested areas. A designated weed inspector has the right to enter land to make inquires, take samples, or issue weed notices, as per the Weed Control Act.

Weed Notices

If a weed is identified on a property, the Agricultural Fieldman will contact the landowner and inform them of control options. If a landowner is unwilling or unable to control control the Prohibited Noxious or Noxious weeds, they will receive a Weed Notice. A Weed Notice will include direction on how to control or destroy the target weeds, a deadline for control, and may include limitations for land usage if non-compliance continues.
