Seasonal ASB Labourer - 4 Month Term

Full Time | Seasonal (40 hrs/week)

We are currently looking for 3 General Agricultural Labourer's with the board. Duties will include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Tree planting
  • Grass seeding
  • Shelterbelt pest control
  • Weed and brush inspection and herbicide application
  • Invasive species management
  • Conducting pest surveys 
  • Rental equipment transportation and set up within Starland County

The successful candidate will possess a valid class 5 license and have experience operating a 1 ton truck & utility/flat bed trailer, be able or willing to learn to operate equipment such as a 60 hp tractor, ATV's & UTV's and have a working knowledge of weeds and responsible herbicide and pesticide use. Must be able to lift 23 kg.

Consideration will be given to candidates who are currently enrolled in agricultural related training and those with a valid pesticide applicator license or willing to obtain required certifications/licenses. 

Employment will commence on or near May 1st and end approximately August 31st 2026. 

Employees are responsible for full cooperation with all aspects of the health and safety program, including compliance with all rules and regulations, and for continually practicing safety while performing their duties. Starland County has a Substance Abuse Prevention Policy in place as a reflection of our commitment to protect the health and safety of employees, co-workers, the general public and the environment. In accordance with this policy, Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing is required prior to commencing employment as well as a drivers abstract to be pulled.
