Fire Restrictions In Place

Due to the dry conditions, Starland County has implemented a “Fire Restriction” for all of Starland County effective June 2, 2025.

  • All active fire permits issued by the County have been rescinded.
  • No new permits will be issued.
  • This will remain in effect until conditions change or we see some significant moisture.
  • This does not prevent the use of fire pits or campfires; however, they are highly recommended only when conditions are suitable and proper fire containment facilities such as grates or screens are used in conjunction.

Between November 1st and March 1st, Fire Permits are NOT required within Starland County as per the Forest and Prairie Protection Act. You still MUST notify your local fire department of any outdoor fires. Please note: Starland County can still implement Fire Bans and Fire Restrictions if conditions are unsuitable for burning. Please refer to the Alberta Fire Bans for bans and restrictions. Thank you.
